Instructions
Upon opening the program, it will inform you that the program contains macros, and ask if you wish to enable them. This is required for the spreadsheet to function properly. If it does not prompt you to enable macros, and the sheet does not function properly, change your security settings to moderate. This will prompt the program to ask you if it detects macros.
Race & Class
To create a character, first select the RACE & STATS tab and enter your ability scores. Type only in the GREEN boxes. Select your race, gender, alignment, and deity. If your deity is not listed, you can override the pulldown menu by typing your deity's name and favored weapon in the appropriate green boxes (to the right of DEITY). Next, click the CLASSES tab and select your character's class or classes. You are given maximum hit points at first level. Enter hit points for additional levels into the green boxes. Select any class-specific options on this page as well (such as cleric domains, ranger fighting styles, etc.). Go back to RACE & STATS, and click the AGE/HGT/WGT button
Skills, Feats, and Languages
Now go to the SKILLS tab and select your skills. The number of available skill points for each level is displayed in red at the top of the table. Green cells are class skills, blue cells are cross-class skills and require two skill points per rank. When finished, go to the LANGUAGES tab and select your character's languages. Racial bonus languages are the only ones available until the character can speak at least one, then the others open up. Next, select the FEATS tab. Hit CALCULATE FEAT AVAILABILITY. Select your feats. You may use the BONUS FEATS drop down menu to view which feats are considered bonus feats for various classes. Select standard feats in the left column and bonus feats in the right. The spreadsheet tracks how many of each you have left, but it does not track which feats you are allowed to take.
Armor, Weapons, and Enhancements
Select the ARMOR tab and choose armor. Be advised that you will have to enter the armor again on the gear page for the weight to be factored into your total weight carried. Go to the ATTACKS tab to select weapons. The ENHANCEMENTS tab is where you can add any magical modifiers to your statistics, such as magical items that enhance saving throws, attack bonuses, or anything else.
Mount, Gear, and Notes
Your character sheet is now mostly populated, and all the statistics calculations are done for you. Now go to the CHAR SHEET 2 tab. You may enter your possessions and where they are carried on this page. In the LOCATION box, enter which container or bodily location each item is carried. For example, a potion may be carried in a belt pouch, and a Deck of Many Things may be carried in a back pack. On this page you may also enter your mount's statistics, if you have a mount. Type only in the green boxes when entering mount statistics. Lastly, you may use the extra space for any notes you take.
Spellcasters
Spellcasters select their familiars/animal companions on the CLASSES tab.
